After starting our business and this blog we’ve heard from a number of people who are interested in starting their own business. It brings joy to our eyes to see more people taking the plunge
If you’re one of those people and you are in the ideation phase and looking for some capital to get jump started, check out the Y Combinator Winter Funding cycle. Y Combinator is new kind of venture firm that focuses mainly on the idea and the people (and not the business plan). They take a more hands-off approach to incubation than others. Basically, you get a few thousand bucks, incorporated, and then they let you do what you do.
I think we may be a little too far along to go for it, but I’m never one to rule out taking money
If you have an idea, you should definitely give it a shot. What’s the harm? All you need to do is submit an application form by October 18, 2006.
Good luck!
